What is curing?

Curing is the process in which a soap goes through to finish saponifying, making the bar of soap weigh less, last longer, and be more gentle on your skin.

What ingredients do you use in your products and where do they come from?

Our soap recipe is made up of using pasture raise, non soy non gmo, home rendered lard, coconut, olive, and castor oils as well as Nigerian Dwarf goat's milk from Henbit Homestead, and Jersey cow milk from a local farm in East Texas. To meet our suppliers, visit our "Meet Our Suppliers" page.

Why do you use lard in your soap?

We use lard in our soap because it makes a creamy, long lasting bar of soap. We source our lard from a ranch in East Texas that we personally visit from time to time and are confident in the treatment of their animals.

Do you use fragrance oils or micas in any of your products?

At this time we do not use fragrance oils or micas in our soap. We will revisit this in the future depending on the quality of the fragrance oils and/or micas. We are committed to ethically sourcing our ingredients as well as being transparent about what we use in our products.

Do you use any preservatives in your products?

At this time we do not use preservatives in any of our products. If we decide to use preservatives, they will be fully investigated and researched before using. At this time we only make anhydrous (waterless) products that do not require a preservative. If in the future we decide to make any products such as shampoo bars, lotions, etc, these will require a preservative due to the combination of oil and water being used.

Why are all of your soaps earth toned?

At this time the only colorants we use are plant based or from natural clays, and since these colors are sourced from nature, they are earth toned.
